Scholarship Application

Applicants must:
- Be a SAE member in good standing by February 1.
- Be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in the upcoming academic year. After the February 1 deadline to submit applications, scholarships are awarded for the upcoming academic year.
- Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
- Submit an application form, official transcript, and two letters of recommendation

The deadline to submit a scholarship application is February 1 at 11:59pm. Completed applications must include a completed application form, official transcripts, and two recommendation letters
The SAE Foundation Scholarship Commission reads all completed applications and supporting documents and evaluates them based on the four values of the Fraternity: Friendship, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. Scholarship applicants are notified in May.
Leadership Scholarships
Ivan Allen Jr. Leadership Award
Established in memory of Brother Ivan Allen Jr. (Georgia Tech ‘33), a former Mayor of Atlanta, this award recognizes outstanding leadership that demonstrates the spirit of Allen.
Fred J. Archibald Award
Established in memory of Brother Fred J. Archibald (Cornell ’45) and Brother Fred I. Archibald (Nebraska 1914), this award recognizes outstanding chapter leadership.
Charles Collins Award
Established in memory of Brother Charles F. Collins (Boston 1912), this award recognizes outstanding leadership and service in the Fraternity, school, and community.
W. Emil Forman Award
Established in memory of Brother W. Emil Forman (Pennsylvania ‘29), this award recognizes extraordinary commitment to community service.
Richard Generelly Leadership Award
Established in memory of Past Eminent Supreme Archon Walter B. Jones (Auburn 1910) and Brother Philip J. Laurence (Minnesota 1915), this award recognizes outstanding academic achievement.
Jones-Laurence Award
Established in memory of past Eminent Supreme Archon Walter B. Jones (Alabama 1910) and Philip J. Laurence (Minnesota 1915), this recognizes outstanding academic achievement. A GPA of 3.9 out of 4.0 or higher is required.
Joseph Mancini Leadership Award
Established in memory of Past Eminent Supreme Archon Joseph Mancini (Cincinnati ‘35), this award recognizes outstanding leadership in their chapter, school, and community.
Warren P. Poslusny Award
Established by Past Honorary Eminent Supreme Archon and Past Foundation Trustee Warren Paul “Pos” Poslusny (Kettering ‘69), this award recognizes a steadfast commitment to the ideals in the True Gentlemen.
Gordon L. Rockwell Business Scientific Scholarship
Established in memory of Brother Gordon L. Rockwell (Michigan State ‘66), this award recognizes academic achievement in business or science.
Jim Sakers Leadership Award
Established in memory of Brother Jim “Scoop” Sakers (Maryland-College Park ‘69), this award recognizes academic achievement and outstanding contributions to chapter growth.
SAE Foundation Award for Overall Excellence
Established in 2021, this award recognizes overall excellence in living the Fraternity’s values: Friendship, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service.
SAE Foundation Trustees Award for Scholarship and Service
Endowed by inaugural Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman Robert A. Dickinson (Stanford ‘86) and supported by donors, this award recognizes quality involvement in campus and chapter leadership positions.
Specific Scholarships
Bradley Cohen Courage Award
Established by Past Eminent Supreme Archon Bradley M. Cohen (Arizona ‘85), this award recognizes extraordinary courage in overcoming a major personal or organizational obstacle.
Frank Ginocchio & Thomas W. Devine Leadership Award
Established in honor of Brother Frank C. Ginocchio’s (Northwestern ‘66) and Brother Thomas W. Devine’s (Minnesota ‘74), this scholarship recognizes a positive impact in risk management.
G. Robert Hamrdla Award
Established by Past Eminent Supreme Recorder Bob Hamrdla (Stanford ‘60), this award recognizes outstanding academic achievement in history.
Dr. Charles A. Preuss Medical Award
Established in memory of Brother Dr. Charles A. Preuss (Idaho 1924), this award recognizes Brothers pursuing a career in medicine who demonstrate service to their community.
SAE Foundation Board Special Improvement Fund
Established in 2024, this award recognizes a commitment to lifelong leadership that continues to advance the Fraternity beyond graduation.
California Sigma Scholarship
Established in 2021 by the California Sigma House Corporation, this scholarship recognizes California Sigma alumni and their descendants who demonstrate excellence in living the values of the Fraternity.
